Audrey Cullen Davis, CPC, is co-founder and president of First Call Associates. The Firm was established in July, 2000 in Stamford, Connecticut. In 2004, the Company reincorporated in the State of Florida as Clark, Cullen & Davis, Inc. and established First Call Associates as a dba. The Firm has been profitable since its inception placing hundreds of industry professionals with clients such as Barclays Capital, Centaurus, Sempra Energy, Shell Trading, Societe Generale, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Point Carbon, Credit Suisse, Edison Mission, Wachovia, Excel Energy, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank and others.
Ms. Davis earned her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Connecticut where she majored in Economics. After graduation, Ms. Davis joined AIG International Asset Management where she supported the head of marketing as a marketing analyst. After a little more than a year, Ms. Davis was recruited from the hedge fund group to AIG's energy trading operation, AIG Trading Corp (later acquired by Sempra Energy Trading Corp.). Ms. Davis was hired to market and trade sulfur dioxide credits or emission allowances under the EPA's then new cap and trade program. AIG Trading became an active market maker in SO2.
In addition to trading emission allowances, Ms. Davis began trading natural gas in the cash markets throughout the Gulf and the Northeast. Soon she became familiar with suppliers and consumers throughout the East and as she developed relationships with consumers, she learned more about electric generation in NEPOOL, New York and PJM. Ms. Davis was successful negotiating the terms for the sale of delivered natural gas in exchange for an equivalent amount of energy/electricity with a northeast IOU; it was the group's first tolling transaction. Later Ms. Davis was recruited to Cinergy where she continued as a director in marketing.
In the spring of 2000, Ms. Davis returned to Connecticut to establish First Call Associates, a Firm established to provide advisory, consultative and recruitment services for energy trading and marketing professionals. Clients would include IOUs, trading companies, investment banks, retail energy providers, producers, industrial consumers, hedge funds and others interested in the trading, marketing and sales of energy related commodities. The Firm's first clients were familiar to the recruiters; they were former colleagues, industry friends and/or industry acquaintances. After two months in business, the Firm closed its first successful search. The hiring authority who engaged First Call Associates for the search was a former industry competitor of Ms. Davis.
The Firm's mission would be to provide a stellar level of service. Predicated on service, the Firm would also work "smart". Recruiters employed by First Call Associates would use their direct industry experience to deliver clients above average results in the shortest amount of time possible. Even during the most challenging times recruiting in the energy industry, the Firm persevered following Enron's demise and its subsequent fallout. Recruiters at First Call Associates would remain committed to the guiding principles of its mission and would provide clients and candidates ethical and high quality professional service. What would remain mission critical was to continue to work toward establishing long-term mutually rewarding business relationships around the world. The Firm will celebrate its 10th anniversary in business in July 2011.
Ms. Davis is based in the U.S. in Boca Raton, Florida. She is married with two children.
